This project was for the Youtuber Loot Goblin who inquired about creating some animated backgrounds to use within his videos centered around Dungeons and Dragons. The one being shown is the first in what will eventually be a few different animated backgrounds.
The 'Marketplace' background helped set the scope for this project, with a night and day version that also had to have a removable cart. It took heavy inspiration from areas within games such as World of Warcraft and BAZAAR.
When it came to animating, it was to be kept fairly simple so glowing lights and some fluttering fireflies were an easy addition. A sleeping cat was added to give a bit more life to the scene without being distracting.
The day version is currently in progress of being animated which will include moving clouds and the cat more stretched out and aware of its surroundings.
